transit
transit, my debut album, is an exploration of the themes that have dominated my mind for the past several years. how does where we live shape who we are? how do we move, physically and metaphorically, through space and time? how does memory and the passing of time shape our understanding of narratives we tell about ourselves? how can we grapple with our own stories to gain understanding of ourselves? how do we express love, how do we know it when we see it, how does it change us? where do i come from, where am i going, and how will i get there? all these questions led me to an album which centers on growth, change, and motion. transit.
In conjunction with the release of transit, I am excited to announce places are memories: the transit zine. This art and lyrics book was curated by myself, with an art piece specifically commissioned for each song on the album from artists whom I admire both personally and artistically. A portion of proceeds from the zine will be donated to support queer and trans youth. Zines will be available for shipping or at live shows.
